Our client, a leading global manufacturer of building products, is seeking a talented Maintenance Electrician to join its production facility in Essex. In this role, you'll take on a crucial responsibility: ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the plant's machinery through planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
You'll have the chance to work with advanced systems like SCADA and PLCs, while also honing your skills in sensor and control system maintenance, motor repairs, and more. It's a role that demands technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform day-to-day maintenance tasks, including planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery
· Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards
· Record all work in the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
· Work in a self-motivated and self-supervised manner, with excellent communication skills
The Ideal Candidate:
· Extensive experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
· Strong knowledge of the 18th Edition wiring regulations
· IOSH training is an advantage
· Hands-on experience maintaining and replacing electrical components like sensors, control systems, and motors
· Skilled in using hand tools, bearing presses, and fitting tools
· Familiarity with SCADA and PLC systems is a plus
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
· Commitment to safety and attention to detail
