Are you a commercially astute and very successful sales hunter looking for a new career in asset finance? If so, our client would like to speak to you.
Up to now, you'll probably have been working in a business that creates bespoke, tailored deals based on their customers' specific requirements. Maybe IT hardware/software, financial services, telecoms, printing or data management solutions, capital equipment, logistics, packaging, or fleet leasing, for example. Whichever B2B sector you're from, the ability to quickly grasp a company's challenges and devise an appropriate asset finance solution for them is critical, as it's a core part of this role for our client.
As you can tell, it's a both a consultative and a transactional sales process. They don't do purely "off the shelf" packages. Instead, they tailor their offering to suit the client.
So, what is their offering? They offer commercial asset finance broking and lending services to companies who need finance for any capital equipment, hard or soft asset purchase. As such, their customer base is rich and varied. For example, you could go from talking to a small restaurant owner about finance for new fridges to the FD of a £15m business wanting finance to purchase a new state of the art machine for their manufacturing plant.
You'll be generating new business from warm leads, which you'll aim to convert into long-term accounts. Obtaining knowledge and building relationship with these companies will be critical to your success, providing crucial insights to identify further opportunities to sell asset finance solutions that can drive your customers' strategic growth, whilst also achieving our client's ambitious targets.
Our client's industry works at a fast pace, and you will have multiple deals in progress within your pipeline at any one time (perhaps 30-40), which can go from initial contact to funds in the bank in a matter of days. As such, you'll be able to flex your time-management muscles and enjoy your generous sales commission being paid as soon as the deal is complete-there's no waiting for the month's figures to be announced.
As for your skills, our client envisages you will be degree educated and have a sound grasp of company financials as well as pipeline development, a keen eye for detail and excellent analytical, numeracy and negotiation skills. You'll be working with company MDs and FDs, so your presentation and interpersonal skills will be impeccable, and you must be able to engage intelligently and speak their financial language. Ideally, you will have managed others in your previous roles so you can provide mentoring and guidance to your team.
Realistically you could be earning OTE in the region of six figures and if you are mentoring and coaching a team of brokers you will also benefit from override commissions and a wealth of other blue-chip benefits to reward your work hard/play hard personality.

The Role:
· Team Leadership - motivate, support, train and develop your internal sales team building a strong succession plan.
· Customer Relationship Management - build strong, long-lasting relationships with multiple clients within the industrial, automotive and aerospace engineering sector.
· Sales & Revenue Growth - develop and implement account plans to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth as well as identifying and capitalising on upselling and cross selling opportunities.
· Market & Product Knowledge - ensure that you and your team are fully trained to offer technical expertise and advice on engineering parts to improve their manufacturing operational efficiency.
· Operational Excellence - coordinate with all cross functional colleagues and department to ensure service delivery in line with account KPI's.
· Performance Reporting - prepare and present performance reports for all accounts, including sales metrics, customer feedback and sales opportunities to the Commercial Director and the Field Sales team. You will be adept at analysing data to identify trends, challenges, opportunities for growth.
The Ideal Candidate
· Graduate calibre education in business or engineering related subjects.
· A customer centric attitude and a proven track record in either internal sales/account management or field sales as an individual contributor, having progressed to a player coach team leadership role.
· Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing, customer-centric sales teams
· Enthusiastic personality able to foster a one team culture.
· Internal sales or account management experience gained within technical/ industrial sectors (manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace).
· Strong understanding of sales principles and account planning and management perhaps having been trained/gained experience within a multinational or large market leading organisation.
· Skilled in managing complex inquiries, quotations, and custom orders in a high-volume environment
· Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Able to motivate, mentor and coach a small team of internal account executives.
· Well organised and able to manage your own multiple accounts whilst also leading and supporting your team.
· Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
· Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
· Ability to assess data and identify trends and opportunities to further strengthen account relationships into national or key accounts.
· Excellent persuasion, influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills.
