We're looking for a talented individual with indepth experience of German GAAP and taxation to join our client's team at their cutting-edge logistics and supply chain facility in the lower Rhine region in Germany.

 

The Role:

As the Management Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial success of the operation, reporting directly to the General Manager and Commercial Finance Manager.

 

You will oversee financial management and reporting activities at the facility. This includes preparing and analysing financial reports, such as daily flash reports, month-end reports, and KPI reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial forecasts to support resource planning and operational decision-making.

 

Collaboration with the General Manager is essential to align financial strategies with operational goals and objectives. You will also assist in budget preparation and monitoring, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, particularly in German tax law.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong management accounting skills, including experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. Candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of German GAAP, as well as local taxation knowledge and understanding as they will be taking the lead on tax returns and interacting with the local tax authorities in Germany.

 

Familiarity with financial systems such as Sage (or similar), and fluency in written and verbal German and English will be critical to success.
